Job description

JePPIX is the Joint European Platform for Photonic Integration of Components and Circuits (, an international organization hosted by the TU Eindhoven. JePPIX assists organizations around the globe with access to advanced design and fabrication capabilities for Photonic Integrated Circuits. JePPIX aims at low-cost development of application specific PICs using the generic foundry model, and enables prototyping via regular industrial Multi-Project Wafer runs. This is a close collaboration between the TU/e (, Photon Delta ( and Europe’s key players in the field of photonic integration, including manufacturing and packaging partners, photonic CAD software partners, R&D labs and photonic ICs design houses.

The JePPIX open access ensures ease of access to users of photonic integration technology and smooth delivery of services from the JePPIX partners. This is a key role in sustaining the JePPIX technology eco-system for design, prototyping and manufacturing of Photonic Integrated Circuits.

The position of Knowledge Valorization Officer is supported by the openPICs project ( with a particular focus on the Market Demands work package, translating products which make use of photonic ICs, into building blocks, processes and designs and supporting the increasing diversity of photonic IC design. The primary functions will be designer focused:

  • Streamlining access to the regular series of Multi-Project Wafer and Multi Project Packaging runs – currently 10 per year.
  • Enabling new fabless designers to incorporate PIC technology in products for emerging markets.
  • Maintaining and developing web-based documentation
  • Working with Europe’s leading open access PIC companies to reduce the barriers for chip development for first time users

Job requirements

  • Excellent organizational, communications and presentation skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
