The Department of Biomedical Engineering. There is an endless demand in modern healthcare for technologies to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of health problems. To meet this demand, TU/e has a strong focus on Health in its research and education programs and has a department devoted entirely to this socially vital area: Biomedical Engineering. Biomedical engineers improve human health by cross-disciplinary activities that integrate the engineering sciences with the biomedical sciences and clinical practice.
The Department of Biomedical Engineering presently consists of thirteen research groups, organized in 3 clusters and covers everything from regenerative medicine to biomedical image analysis to biomolecular engineering. With 58 (assistant, associate and full) professors, over 100 researchers and postdocs, 158 PhD students and circa 950 bachelor students, the Department of Biomedical Engineering provides high-quality academic education and cutting-edge research.
About the group
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology is recruiting a faculty member to expand its academic staff. We welcome applications which strengthen our scientific program on Biomaterials Discovery. The candidate will be embedded in the cluster Regenerative Engineering and Biomaterials, have close ties to the BioInterface Science of Prof. Jan de Boer (www.jandeboerlab.com) and is expected to participate in shaping the newly formed Center for Therapeutic Biomaterials.
What we are looking for: We seek to appoint a scientist who is passionate about research as well as teaching. We are looking for a creative and pro-active team player to establish her complementary research line. We focus on high-throughput biomaterials discovery, and are looking for a professional who can help us to put it on the next level by realizing our challenging but exciting project on biomaterial discovery automation. An important aspect of TU/e’s vision on education is that research and education go hand in hand, both at Bachelor and Master level. TU/e helps its scientific staff to further develop their teaching skills by offering a training program that leads to an official teaching certification from Dutch Universities (Basic Teaching Qualification).

Salary will be based on your background and working experience and according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities (CAO NU). Monthly salary ranges (on a full-time basis) is as follows:
Additionally, we offer a yearly holiday allowance of 8% of the annual salary and a yearly end-of-year bonus of 8.3% of the annual salary.
