Project is a platform that encourages and rewards families and friends to stay active socially, mentally and physically in a personalized gaming experience. GameBus enables people to perform the activities they enjoy truly as an individual in such a way that they are part of an integrated social interaction.

The platform includes an API and apps for Android, iOS and web browsers. The technology was realized via investments of Eindhoven University of Technology and EIT Digital and already in 2015 it was used by third party apps from Telecom Italy and other international players. Currently, the platform is further industrialized via new EIT funding which will make GameBus a key component in medical solutions as well. Furthermore, the core technology is being brought to the next level of gamification via research funding.

Job description

We have an open vacancy for a senior software developer. This positions is at the intersection of software engineering and certification. This vacancy specifically relates to developing new features and maturing testing and releasing processes.

This vacancy welcomes experts who can interact professionally in English. The capability to have casual conversations in Dutch is appreciated but not required.

You will be part of the core development team of, where your focus will be on developing new features and maturing our testing and release processes. Successful applicants will also demonstrate eagerness to present at (inter-)national conferences.


  • Ability to write clear, understandable and efficient code
  • Ability to explain your code in a plain and simple way
  • Willing to write documentation of the code
  • Ability to understand someone else’s code
  • Smart selection of testcases for continuous integration
  • Contributed to systems that have been used in production, with a realistic yet privacy preserving DTAP (OTAP in Dutch) flow
  • Expert in Java Spring and Junit
  • Hands-on with Mockito  and MySQL or equivalent
  • Strong familiarity with AngularJS/Ionic
  • Architectural vision on GIT, VMs and/or Docker and Continuous Integration systems (such as Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of other languages and technologies is a plus
  • Proud lead user of our own software (i.e., dogfooding)
  • Eagerness to release frequently
  • Eagerness to interact with our Italian business & technology partner

We offer

  • An exciting job in the group Information Systems of the Eindhoven University of Technology
  • A fulltime temporary appointment for 1 year.
  • A gross monthly salary in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement of the Dutch Universities (CAO NU), depending on experience and knowledge;
  • A yearly holiday allowance of 8% of the yearly salary;
  • A yearly end year allowance of 8.3% of the yearly salary;
