TU/e Innovation Lab is seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as a Project Manager (full-time) for managing two of its projects. For this purpose you are required to have a strong background in both administration and finance. You understand how projects should be managed from an administrative perspective and have experience in managing not just merely a project, but also the consortium and its partners. TU/e and its strategic partners within the Brainport Ecosystem are intensifying their support to startups and potential entrepreneurs. For this matter, a full-scale support program is being created, and other facilities are developed, in which you will play a supporting role. Several activities are funded by larger grants which need professional attention and management. You will report to the head of the Business Development unit (IP, technology transfer, student entrepreneurship and business incubation) and your work consists (amongst other things) of the following:

  1. Make sure administrative requirements are met, project reports and cost-statements are submitted timely and in accordance with grant regulations;
  2. Maintain in close contact to the colleagues who operate within the projects, as well as the partners;
  3. Prepare cost-statements and payout instructions in collaboration with the financial controller of the Innovation Lab;
  4. Develop and maintain a relationship with the grant issuing parties;
  5. Pro-actively check incoming proposals and invoices on their eligibility for the grants

  • Encourage entrepreneurship and innovation by identifying, supporting and providing guidance for potential high-tech startups and spin-off companies originating at TU/e both at a researcher or student level.


Desired Skills & Experience

You have demonstrated the ability to manage several large scale projects simultaneously, and you are able to deal with multiple deadlines in a short period of time.

Minimum qualifications include a degree in financial management (or similar) and at least 3 years of professional experience. Other accomplishments may be considered instead of the advanced degree preference.

Other required qualifications include:

  • the ability to work both independently and in a team situation, in a highly complex setting and under pressure;
  • able to deal with multiple different deadlines in a short time;
  • strong oral and written communication skills, particularly in English;
  • demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills and good decision-making and negotiating skills;
  • definitely no 9-to-5 mentality.


  • A full-time position (38 hrs per week), initially for the duration of 1 year, with the possibility to extend the contract during the lifetime of the projects that fund the position (3 years in total);
  • A gross monthly salary between € 2,640 and € 4,166 based on a full-time appointment (Projectleider 1 / salary level 10) and based on background and experience; plus yearly 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year allowance;
