The Project Development Office (PDO) is the department’s central hub for all activities related to acquisition of research funding and proposal/project development. We support our researchers in finding interesting funding opportunities, developing their research ideas, coordinating with (inter)national consortia and funding agencies and developing competitive project proposals. Throughout the project lifecycle, we work closely together with our colleagues from Finance, Legal, HR, Data Management and Ethics, as well as project development officers, program managers and researchers from other departments as part of TU/e’s Institutes the Research Support Network.
As Project Development Officer, you’re the expert on acquiring research funding and developing new projects. You know the rules and regulations imposed by the various funding organizations (e.g. NWO and the European Commission), you have built up a network of relevant academic and business contacts and you know what the researchers in the department are looking for. Your expertise enables you to match interesting opportunities with innovative ideas. Together with the researchers you explore new research ideas, and support them in clearly articulating problems, approach, solutions and impact in project proposals or business-to-business collaborations. You take away the researcher’s worries concerning the administrative parts of project development and project startup and keep an eye on projects during their execution.
