Post-doctoral researcher Advanced modeling of adsorption processes

(Postdoctoraal) onderzoeker
Faculteit Scheikundige Technologie

The project is aimed at developing multiscale models to accurately describe specific adsorption processes of industrial interest. It will be performed in close collaboration with a company in the process industry. The aim is to develop and use 3D models that describe adsorption and transport phenomena in detail. Also coarser models will be developed using closure relations obtained from the detailed model. The models will be used to understand, and optimize existing processes and possibly to propose innovative improvements. The software tool that will be used in this project is COMSOL.

We are looking for an experienced candidate with a background in chemical, mechanical, thermal engineering, physics or a related field. The prospective researcher is expected to have experience in modeling of transport phenomena using advanced computational models. An affinity with the process industry is preferred. The ideal candidate has good scientific skills as well as excellent soft skills related to verbal and written communication.
