You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team of approximately ten people which includes a business developer, technicians and a number of photonics specialists. There will be close cooperation with business developers, marketing and account managers, administrators and technologies from partner organisations. A premium will be placed on organisational and communications skills and a customer-centred work ethic. An enthusiasm for making complex technology ideas accessible and comprehensible is also highly desirable.

Job Overview:

Knowledge Valorization Officer interlinks the high-level knowledge, skills, and talent with the photonics industry to enable effective technology exploitation. The successful applicant will be specifically engaged in the new European Manufacturing Pilot Lines coordinated by TU/e. InPulse focusses on expanding the uptake of indium phosphide photonic integrated circuit technology. OIP4NWE is the Open-Innovation Photonics pilot for North West Europe and developes next generation manufacturing methods. Both projects enable increased technology maturity and makes the technology readily available to businesses.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage and document customer relationships by providing access to foundry-produced photonic integrated circuits including shared-access, multi-project wafer runs (MPW): assist customers with inquiries, updates on delivery dates, product availability and pricing.
  • Analyze customer satisfaction and translate customer feedback into actions to improve business processes
  • Organize educational training programs and develop new industrial formats of training
  • Increase Pilot lines awareness by means of industry-oriented events, media, information dissemination workshops
  • Contribute to the development of synergies across pilot line initiatives, connecting businesses with the most appropriate services.
  • Expand the existing Ecosystem to new customers and new application sectors.


  • Bachelor or Master in Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies and developing communications materials
  • Experience in tracking relevant KPIs (e.g. customer satisfaction)
  • A customer-oriented and results-driven mentality, with a bias for speed and action
  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve problems and to work effectively in a team environment with business developers and technologists
  • Technical background and affinity is a strong plus
  • Excellent oral presentation, communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English
