Job description

Do you like contributing to innovative education and creating motivational dynamics in “your class” -a group of 60 students- over a period of 9 weeks (see 2min video)?   

The University of Eindhoven is looking for enthusiastic and dynamic Tutorial Teachers ethics (part time) for a course on ethics of technology and engineering of for the period from April 7th 2025 to July 5th 2025.

The heart of this Ethics of Technology and Engineering course are the tutorials. In these tutorials, 60 students work in 12 teams of 5 engineering students to perform the main task, that is to apply the ethical theories to an engineering case to come to an advice for a client.

  • The Tutorial Teachers will have each their own class. They will motivate their students for ethics and engage them to apply the ethical theories to their case.
  • The Tutorial Teacher will also provide feedback and grading to offer students information about their learning.
  • The Tutorial Teacher will work in a small team of 2-4 other Tutorial Teachers, supervised by a main teacher. Tutorial Teaching activities will be on campus at the Eindhoven University of Technology.

Job requirements

Candidates are expected to have a Masters or PhD degree in philosophy, preferably in the field of ethics, applied ethics, ethics of technology or philosophy of technology. Proven expertise in teaching philosophy courses or other pedagogical activities is recommended.

Conditions of employment

  • We offer a part-time employment via EU/flex of 0,3 fte or 0,6 fte for a fixed period of three months.
  • A monthly salary of minimum €2,870 to maximum €3,771 (CLA NU scale 7) for full-time employment depending on your knowledge and experience. For part time this will be pro-rated.
  • Working hours in consultation for an optimal work-life balance.
