Job description

Wat will you be doing? 
Recruiting scientific staff is a unique and rewarding experience. You will have the chance to build relationships not only with your hiring managers, but also with other key stakeholders within the various departments. With your expertise and credibility you will be a trusted partner, providing support and advise with regard to their recruitment strategy.

As an experienced recruiter, you will attract and actively search for qualified academic candidates (assistant, associate, and full professors) on an international scale. Your passion for identifying and engaging passive candidates will be key to your success. You will be involved in pre-selection and candidate interviews, often collaborating closely with your hiring managers. Your drive for excellence will ensure that hiring managers remain engaged and committed throughout the entire process. While you enjoy professional freedom in your role, you will also be supported by your recruitment colleagues. You will be joining a small but connected team, that appreciates the fun factor as well!

The journey to a successful hire can be lengthy, often spanning over six months. This extended timeline allows you to build strong relationships with your candidates, becoming a trusted partner both internally and externally. What starts as a candidate relationship can evolve into a partnership with your future hiring managers.

Desired profile 

We are looking for a colleague who wants to contribute to a high-quality professional service in an informal personal culture:

  • You have at least 6 years of experience preferably executive search/ sourcing of single as well as multiple vacancies and/or corporate recruiting.
  • You have a genuine passion for searching and sourcing candidates who are not actively seeking new positions.
  • You have experience with recruitment analytics and can display process acumen and strategic insight.
  • You are creative, proactive, have structured way of working and demonstrate courage and determination, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • You hold a bachelor degree, preferably in a technical field, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Dutch.
  • You have a service-oriented attitude/ organizational sensitivity and preferably you have experience within the context of government institutions or academia.
  • You excel at operating within time and resource constraints.

Conditions of employment

An exciting position within an international yet personal university. You are in the middle of the students, on a green campus within walking distance of the central station. We also offer you:

  • A monthly gross salary of minimum €3.378.- to maximum €6.209,- for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge, proven experience and level of education (salary scale 10/11 collective labor agreement for Dutch Universities).
  • We also offer attractive secondary benefits, such as 41 days of vacation for a 40-hour week, 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% year-end bonus, a generous employer's contribution to the ABP pension plan, a selection model for conditions of employment, childcare on the campus and excellent sports facilities.
  • Working hours in consultation for an optimal work-life balance.

About the HRM Department
The service consists of approximately 110 colleagues and is composed of the HR Operations, HR Business and HR Development divisions. In this position, you will be part of the Development (Policy, Development & Projects) division. HRM Development encourages talent, continuous development and innovation in order to make the best use of human potential. We want to support the departments, services, institutes and all employees of TU/e to continuously develop and adapt to internal and external changes.

About SQUAD
HRM is part of the SQUAD program (Support QUAlity Drive). SQUAD is a relevant step in achieving our Strategy 2030 goals and provides HRM with opportunities to strengthen HR services, collaboration, and processes. HRM started the SQUAD program in April 2022. This will continue with the implementation of the HRM Change Plan in 2024 and beyond. The program aims to test the quality of HR service delivery at our university, among other things, through critical reflection, external reviews, and change plans.
