Job description

People are the heart and soul of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). TU/e is an important hub in a world-class high-tech ecosystem. We are internationally renowned for our expertise in basic scientific and technological disciplines.

TU/e has the ambition to be one of the leading universities in the field of science and technology. In the coming years we will strengthen our base in fundamental research, invest in individual research talent and develop leadership in interdisciplinary research themes: Smart materials & processes, Complex high tech systems, Bioengineering Health, Renewable energy, Human-centered systems and environments and Data-driven intelligent systems. Three challenges are fundamental to our vision for 2030: a sustainable world, the technological revolution and the impact of technology on society. TU/e is a people-oriented employer that offers opportunities for talent - both for scientific and support staff - for personal development and to meet the challenges of tomorrow together.

The Department of Personnel and Organization (DPO) consists of approximately 80 enthusiastic colleagues. In addition to HR advice, DPO also comprises the Policy, HR services & E-HRM, Professional Development and AMVS departments.

As an HR Advisor, you will be seconded to a faculty and/or department and you will contribute to the further professionalization and further development of the HR policy and advice for the relevant organizational unit. In addition, you will actively participate in university-wide HRM projects. In your role, you will work together with fellow HR advisors and HR service employees. With your knowledge and skills, you will contribute to the realization of HRM activities within the breadth of the discipline, such as recruitment, inflow, development, absenteeism and outflow.

Core tasks

  • Coaching and advising managers on organizational issues, personnel planning and (individual) development issues;
  • Advising directors (business operations) and/or faculty management/management teams on HR policy and organizational issues;
  • Contribute to the development of the HR institution policy and ensure the translation and adequate implementation within the assigned organizational unit;
  • In your work you look for the connection, and you oversee what is needed. Regularly you will take on an advisory and/or coaching role, at other times you will pick up HR-related issues yourself and ensure that the processes are correctly set up and that the reports are accurate.

Job requirements

As a candidate

  • You have a relevant Bachelor or Master degree, for  example in Human Resources Management;
  • You have 3-5 years of HR work experience within a complex and preferably similar organization;
  • You have an excellent oral and written command of the Dutch and English languages (C1 level);
  • You are able to maintain an overview by means of a process-oriented and project-oriented approach.
    You have a high degree of independence and flexibility as an HR professional. In doing so, you show persuasiveness and are able to connect with people. You are result-oriented and make a professional contribution to the development of HRM as a discipline at the TU/e and the HR advisory role within it.

Conditions of employment

This is a temporary appointment for a period of one year, with an extension or conversion into an employment contract for an indefinite period if you perform well.
