FuseNet is the European fusion education network. Universities, research institutes and companies are linked as members. Students, teachers and doctoral students come to us for education material, internships, funding, events. EUROfusion, the European consortium of national fusion research institutes, strongly supports FuseNet’s mission and is our prime contract partner. Together we form a network of people to make fusion a reality.
As FuseNet’s Executive Officer, you are responsible for the daily operation of the network.
You lead the Executive team (development, content and admin) and report to the Board of Governors, closely collaborating with the Chair of the Board. You are the linchpin of the network, that grows and makes more connections. You maintain relationships with members, students and stakeholders. You are able to convey the mission and vision of FuseNet, and you know the details of the association.
You coordinate the preparation and execution of events and funding calls. You align the administration and archives and take care of GDPR compliancy. Together with the Board, you steer the vision, execute the plan, and you start new initiatives. You make proposals on which
the Board and Working Party Leaders can make decisions. You authorise funding requests and evaluate them on content and relevance. You deliver financial and technical reporting.
You ensure quality assurance of the work, services and content that is disseminated through online platforms. You are enthusiastic about skills development. Also, you are geared towards developing a committed and lasting FuseNet community.
You have an excellent command of English and have good communication, leadership and project management skills. An academic background is a pre-requisite. Knowledge about nuclear fusion is a pro, the willingness to learn is a must.
