Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is looking for knowledgeable and results-driven Coordinator Data Management. You are asked to coordinate and support the University wide implementation of Data Management enable the next step towards a data driven way of working.

The TU/e service Data Management and Library (DML) is responsible to set the strategic direction and support implementation of Data Management. We are therefore looking for a coordinator who can support translating strategic goals into pragmatic actions and implementation efforts. You will have to combine strategic, tactical and operational skills and excel in driving, coordinating and facilitating. You do so by applying your excellent people and (agile) project management skills and have a vision and persuasiveness to coordinate the Data Management rollout across all chains of business operations in a uniform and systematic way.

The Coordinator Data Management:

  • Is responsible for the daily coordination of the Data Management organization and for facilitating the Data Governance team and other cross-domain meetings. 
  • Is the go-to person for Data Management matters across domains, for data domain coordinators (data stewards) and for the data knowledge experts
  • Acts as scrum master and coach coordinating and facilitating all Data Management (implementation) activities of the several teams across all business services.
  • Coaches team members regarding project-based collaborations and supports or provides input to personal development plans or evaluations.
  • Keeps insight and oversight on progresses, results and support needs.
  • Is responsible for drafting and implementing subplans, actions and deliverables to further mature data governance across the university.
  • Works closely with the Strategic Advisor Data Management and helps to maintain the data management strategy and roadmap.
  • Acts as an ambassador and advisor for Data Management, spreads awareness and contributes to establishment of a Data Management community.
  • Is responsible for the Data Management collaboration & documentation platform (MS Teams).
  • Facilitates training and onboarding sessions for new employees and/or data coordinators.
  • Acts for the service DML as first line support for daily data management questions, including privacy, data quality, etc.

Job requirements

  • You are a Data and Information Specialist with an academic degree and a significant experience and knowledge in the field of Data Management.
  • You are well familiar with theory (such as DAMA DMBOK) and more importantly you have experience in working within a data-driven and/or data-intensive environments.
  • Your core focus and expertise lie within topics like data governance, metadata and data quality.
  • You have a broad experience with change- and implementation project management, preferably in an agile manner, and as a project manager you are pragmatic, results-driven and sensitive to people and organizational needs in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • You like bringing people together, motivating, mobilizing and coaching individuals and teams.
  • You can express yourself well, are critical and firm in the field of influence and can work under pressure.
  • You want to continue to develop personally and professionally and grow along with the ever-changing innovative university.
  • You have a perfect understanding of the Dutch & English language, both verbal and written.

Conditions of employment

You will be appointed for a one-year period. Appointment via Euflex (the TU/e secondment organization) will be considered. If performance is good, this appointment may be made permanent. Full-time gross salary, depending on knowledge and experience, will be a minimum of € 3.746,-  and a maximum of € 5.127,- (salary scale 11 CAO NU). The year-end allowance is 8,3% of the annual salary (corresponding to a monthly salary). The holiday allowance is 8% of the annual salary.

In addition, TU/e offers excellent secondary conditions of employment (e.g. day care for children, a minimum of 41 days of leave based on a 40-hour working week and excellent sports facilities).
