About the Mathematics
and Computer Science department

The department provides education at BSc, MSc, PhD and PDEng levels. Besides its own core tasks towards education and research, the department also provides service education for other TU/e departments. Research in the
department concentrates on applied mathematics and the design and analysis of software systems. Knowledge valorization takes place through the Project Development Office (PDO). In the education and research areas the department closely collaborates with other universities and companies in both national and international partnerships. The department has approximately 140 tenured staff members, 200 PhD students/postdocs/PDEng trainees and almost 1000 Bachelor/Master students. The department is leading the Data Science Center Eindhoven (DSC/e). In DSC/e 28 research groups join forces to create a world leading research and education program in data science.
